New 'Mecca Bus Service' was launched on Tuesday, February 15, in the pilot phase of the public transport project. Initial vuses were run from Harmain train station to Jabal Umar station in Al-Rasifa neighborhood. Jabal Umar Station is located near the courtyards of Masjid Al Haram.<br />The first bus was piloted on the Seven A route at 5.30 am. Passengers of Harmain Express train station were taken to Masjid-ul-Haram in its very first journey. In the next phase, Mecca bus service will also run on 12 other routes.<br />The project aims to provide the best and quality transport service by facilitating access to central Makkah.<br />The bus plan consists of two phases. The first phase will consist of 12 routes and 83 stations in which medium volume buses will be used while the buses used in the second phase will run on a specific route with a distance of 172 km and the number of stations will be 342. ۔<br />Under the bus project, 400 state-of-the-art buses will be imported out of which 240 buses will be 12 meters long.
